Acquisition Recording and Status Overview

The __prod_name software's primary purpose is to acquire and record data.  __prod_name starts out in idle mode.  When __prod_name is not acquiring, any valid operation may be executed within the __prod_name software.  This is usually when the hardware sub systems, acquisition entities and plots are being setup. Once __prod_name  has been successfully configured, acquisition may be turned on.  When acquisition is turned on, data will begin to move through the __prod_name software.  Data will be acquired from the appropriate interface, filtered, put into records, displayed and sent over NetCom if requested.  While acquisition is on, additional hardware sub systems and acquisition entities may not be added to the __prod_name system.  Plots and windows however may be added or removed at any time.  When acquisition is on, data is moving through __prod_name, but none of the data is being saved.  Turning on recording then saves all data to disk.

The current system status can be monitored using the system status dialog.  This dialog can be moved around and hidden if you want it out of the way.
