Subject and Session Options

When Pegasus is started, the startup splash screen prompts the user to choose a Subject Identification and a Session Name.  These two options determine the folders where the data collected in Pegasus will be stored.  Additionally, the user can specify where on their acquisition computer or a network server these folders will be located.  The folder designation will have the format < Subject_Location>\<Subject_ID>\<Session_Name>\<session_directory>.  An example for the naming designation is given in the Subject and Session Creation section below.

Subject Identification

1. Previous Subjects The user is allowed to select previously created Subjects or the default Subject.
2. Browse for a File

Pegasus will open a window that allows the user to browse for a previously created Subject file.  The extension of this Subject file must be *.nsub

3. Create a Subject

Pegasus will open the Subject and Session Creation dialog (see section below) that allows the user to create a new Subject, a new Session and specify a directory in which these folders will be created.  More detail on these options is provided in the Subject and Session Creation section below.

Session Name

1. Previous Sessions The user is allowed to choose previously created Sessions for the Subject selected in the above Subject ID drop down menu or choose the default Session.
2.  Create a Session

Pegasus will open the Subject and Session Creation dialog (see section below) and allow the user to create a new Session for the Subject selected in the above Subject ID drop down menu.  A session file will be created with the file extension *.nsif.  Only the Session Name will be a field that the user can edit.  The Subject ID and the folder in which the data is stored will be determined in the Subject ID field above.  A new Subject must be chosen in order to change these designations.  More detail on these options is provided in the Subject and Session Creation section below.
