Tech Spot:
Filter Delay Compensation

When filtering neural data in, either high-pass or low-pass, a delay will occur.  All filters, hardware and software, have a delay associated with them.

Cheetah Data Acquisition Software (DAS) automatically calculates the delays associated with software filtering for post recording analysis within the Digital Signal Process (DSP). Each recorded file in the data set will have this information located in the header of the associated file.

However, if you prefer not to compensate for this filtering delay post recording, Cheetah DAS can perform this step automatically, during the recording session.  To enable this feature, select View - Hardware Properties from the menu bar in Cheetah DAS.  Next, check the box labeled "Adjust Timestamps for DSP delays".  Cheetah DAS will now automatically adjust the data for proper alignment.

More information on this and other features of Cheetah DAS can be found in the Cheetah Reference Guide, located under the Help menu in the Cheetah software menu or, contact support@neuralynx.com.

Shirts for Papers Campaign

See this months featured paper:

"Hierarchical computation in the canonical auditory cortical circuit"

Craig A. Atencio, Tatyana O. Sharpee, and Christoph E. Schreiner

Each month, Neuralynx will highlight a paper or presentation by one of our customers on our website. Submit your paper or presentation which references any Neuralynx hardware, and receive a free Neuralynx polo shirt. Contact support@neuralynx.com for more details.

New RMA Procedure

Neuralynx has improved the process for issuing RMA numbers to customers that need to return a product for evaluation. This new method will help expedite the evaluation of the device to ensure a prompt turnaround time. Simply fill out the form located at http://neuralynx.com/rma, and one of our Neuralynx Support Representatives will contact you shortly with a RMA number.

As always, feel free to call us to be issued an RMA number over the phone.
