Halo-18 Microdrive

​Provides 18 independent drivable shuttles to position up to 16 tetrodes with 11mm shuttle travel.  Two additional shuttles available for fiber optics or reference electrodes.

Less expensive and easier to build, Halo-18 features customizable Exit Tip patterns.

Custom "half moon" drive screw heads and calibrated Turn Tool provide positive, accurate 16 micron depth adjustment.

Halo-18 Microdrive replaces the NLX 18 Drive.

​The Halo-18 Exit Tip is designed with “chimneys” for:

  • smaller craniotomies
  • groups of closely-spaced tetrodes
  • 4.5mm hole depth to aid vertical electrode travel and tetrode wire protection -
    • allows tetrode wires to protrude 3mm out of the polymicro tubing, and
    • reduces tissue damage near targeted recording sites

Exit Tips are precision-machined Ultem.

Independent shuttles allow for fiber optic integration or reference electrodes.
